Real outputs from this effect

What the crying effect does

The crying effect animates a single photo: the person's expression drops, their eyes well up and a tear rolls down their cheek. It turns a selfie or a friend's photo into a dramatic reaction clip in one step.

It is built for reaction memes, over-the-top group-chat drama and edits for sad songs. You only need one clear photo of a face.

How to use the crying effect

1
Upload a photo
Pick a clear, well-lit photo. One subject in the center of the frame gives the most reliable result.
2
Generate
Press generate. Each crying video costs a flat 10 credits.
3
Download and share
You get a 5-second MP4 to post on TikTok, Reels or Shorts, or to send in any chat.

Tips for the best result

Use a clear, front-facing photo where the face fills a good part of the frame.
Neutral or slightly serious expressions give the most natural tears. A huge grin can look uncanny once it starts crying.
Crop out other people so the effect focuses on one face.

What people make with it

Reaction memes: pair the clip with a "me when…" caption.
Mock-dramatic replies in a friend's group chat.
Music edits for heartbreak songs and breakup posts.

Frequently asked questions

How do I make someone cry in a photo with AI?

Upload their photo on this page and generate. You'll get a 5-second video of them breaking into tears that you can download as an MP4.

Does the crying effect work on any face?

It works best on a clear photo of one person looking toward the camera. Group photos, side profiles and very small faces give less reliable results.

Is there a free AI crying video generator?

Each video costs a flat 10 credits. SendFame doesn't have a free plan because every generation runs on paid GPU time, but your first subscription payment is covered by a money-back guarantee.
