What is Seedance 2.5?
Seedance 2.5 is ByteDance's newest AI video model and the successor to Seedance 2.0. It turns a text prompt, a photo or a set of reference media into a video up to 30 seconds long, and it generates the sound in the same pass as the picture: footsteps, engines, ambience and music that match what happens on screen.
It can also edit an existing clip from a written instruction, or extend a shot past its last frame. On SendFame it runs in the browser, so there is no Dreamina or CapCut account, no API key and no waitlist.
Seedance 2.5 vs Seedance 2.0
All three Seedance versions are on SendFame and share one account. The differences that matter:
- Length: Seedance 2.5 makes 5, 15 or 30 second clips. Seedance 2.0 stops at 15 seconds.
- References: 2.5 takes up to 30 images, 10 video clips and 10 audio tracks in one generation. 2.0 Pro takes 9 images and 3 audio tracks.
- Editing: 2.5 edits clips from 4 to 30 seconds long. 2.0 Fast edits clips up to 15 seconds, and 2.0 Pro does not edit.
- Price: a 5 second clip at 480p costs 50 credits with 2.5, 20 with 2.0 Pro and 15 with 2.0 Fast.
How to use Seedance 2.5
- Open the AI video generator from this page. Seedance 2.5 is already selected.
- Write a prompt for text-to-video, or upload a photo to animate it. Add an end frame if the shot should land on a specific image.
- Add reference images, clips or audio for anything that has to stay consistent, like a face, an outfit or a voice.
- Pick 5, 15 or 30 seconds and 480p or 720p. The credit price updates before you generate.
- Generate, then download the MP4, or send it back in to edit or extend it.
Prompt tips for Seedance 2.5
- Write the prompt like a shot list: the subject, what they do, how the camera moves, the lighting and the mood.
- Describe the sound as well as the picture, for example "rain on a tin roof, distant thunder, a low synth score".
- For 15 and 30 second clips, describe the action in order ("first…, then…, finally…") so the scene has somewhere to go.
- Use reference images to lock a character in rather than describing a face in words.
- Draft ideas with Seedance 2.0 Fast at 15 credits, then switch to 2.5 for the final take or anything longer than 15 seconds.
